Can’t ask for a better weekend than spending time with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ learning and fellowship . This camp was held at Tamborine Lodge a place very familiar to many of us because in the past we stayed there as part of the church camp. This time this year our guest speaker was Jesse Caulfield .He is the director of Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy. Being said that he is actively engaged in prison ministry. Most of us when we hear about prison we are scared and easily think the job is not ideal career to work in due to the negative thoughts of the “bad people” done something really bad or wrong to end up in jail. It’s true but that doesn’t stop Jesse and his team working hard and changing the life and the work in prison ministry.
During the camp we went through the Biblical book Ephesians Chapter 1-4 . Another amazing chapter book about
“Life In Christ ”
Unfortunately i miss out hearing his first three talks because i was busy attending my friend Michael+An’s wedding and i was their primary photographer but that’s another post note for another day. Lucky enough Jesse saved his note and transferred to me afterward so i can read it sometimes this week. If you want his notes on the teaching you can either ask me for a copy or Jesse.
MAIN MESSAGE :
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them
I just love this prayer from Paul from Ephesians 3:16-21
16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
Following are some of the application notes that he wrote and suggested us to the group in the four different section of the talk. I apologise for not having his notes on the forth talk because i was there so i don’t need one but if you want his notes you can either contact him personally or ask one of us brothers/sisters in Christ who attended the camp.
How do you grow in maturity, what part does understanding and applying the Scriptures have in that ?
How do you do that in community?
And by way of application – What area do you need to grow in ?
