Happy Father’s Day

I am 100% sure that  today is Father’s Day in Australia. Every where i read on Facebook or Twitter i get updates about the lovely amazing stories of the relationship with dad and them. It just reminded me that i need to send my father a message when i finish writing this short note about “Happy Father’s Day”. Before i continue to write more want to let you know my relationship with my father.  My dad’s name is Raymond. He is a engineer and currently work in Hong Kong and that he have his own workplace.  My relationship with my dad is not the best as i ever wanted to be not because he live overseas and far away from where my mum , brother and I live in Brisbane Australia more the fact that the major difference in his values and view of life is different to what i think and what he think. Don’t get me wrong he is still a loving dad to me not because i say more to the fact to he take care of the family. Guess is a big responsibilities once you become a “dad” . I don’t know when but i am more certain of the fact that having relationship with Jesus/ God our Abba Father is most important in relationship when having a family. Just like today at church we had  John Coulson speaking to us through Ephesians 5: 15-21 about ” Spirit-filled family life”

15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

basically he went on telling about to ” focus on the big picture in the painting ” just like a jigsaw puzzle. One step or one  “jigsaw puzzle” piece is like the key to another piece of the puzzle that we need to solve. This puzzle shows the head of Jesus / Holy Spirit . So if you want to learn more Jesus already provided you the fully manual instruction labelled how the relationship can be achieved through learning and trusting God in v22- Ch6v4. I will just let you read it …..

21 And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

22 For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. 24 As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.

25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word.[b] 27 He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. 28 In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.29 No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. 30 And we are members of his body.

31 As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”[c]32 This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. 33 So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Chapter 6v1 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord,[a] for this is the right thing to do. “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”[b]

Fathers,[c] do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

… hmm to sum up what he said ” Marriage is Christ-like self-sacrificing as loving Christ like marriage illustrate the reunion with God as we are not perfect/we make mistakes but we might need to ask for his forgiveness  and love to us as step by step it is not impossible but possible with God. So don’t be discouraged on yourself and keep learning to become more Christ- like …..  I think that is he want said in some way correct me if you are wrong … maybe i need to ask John again for his sermon but that about it.

So Raymond if you are reading this or any father reading this “For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word and for me personally i need to ” obey your parents because you belong to the Lord,[a] for this is the right thing to do. “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth”

Here a photography i recently captured of him when we were in Japan Hokkaido
